Initial Blog unit 8

Hello Professor and Class. Throughout this course, I have found the visualization and meditation practices to be the best for mental fitness for me personally. I especially like visualization practices because I noticed benefits from this exercise immediately and this was an easy exercise for me to stay focused on. Like I mentioned in another post, I felt that I could especially do the visualization practice by just having a nice surrounding in my home and at work.

Unit 5 Post

Hello Professor and Class. I found that the sublte mind exercise was a lot easier for me to do thtn the loving kindness exercise. I felt more in control of the session becuase I could do it without listening to instruction from another voice or audio.

Spiritual wellness, mental and physical wellness are all very connected. It is understoiod that we cannot truly be healthy until we are a complete balance of physical health, mental health and spiritual health.

I personally know that I am lacking in all three areas. I have however just set a goal to become more physically active. I ahave notice over the last year since my stres levels have increased, that my body is actaully suffereing frm aches, pains and a lack of physical alignment. I may even need to see a chiropractor because I am really not doing very well. I want to also look into acupuncture as a way to feel better. Hopefully if I can exerxise, I will be able to relive a lot of the negative feelings and stress.

Unit 4 Relaxation Exercise

Hello Professor and Class. Once again I had difficulty with the relaxation exercise for the week. I was unable to concentrate on the exercise and either found myself thinking about random things that were not a part of the exercise, and I also found myself falling asleep. However, this may be due to the fact once again that I did this at midnight after working a long day. I would recommend this to others to at least try, because each person is different and just because it did not work all that well with me does not mean that it wont work for another person.

Mental workouts can be good because they can help you through the stresses of life that happen on a daily basis. Mental workouts are good for both your mind and body. I think that if we could all fins a Way to have a mental workout that works for us as individuals then we should take advantage and do them when we have the time.

Unit 3

Hello Class. Overall, I think that I am not very healthy. I would rate myself a 5 on all 3 spectrum's of health (physical, spiritual, phsychological). I have been under so much stress that I think that it has bogged me down. There have also been personal tragedies over that last couple of years that have been a big contributor to this.

I would like to start exercising regular for my physical goal. For my spiritual goal I would like to start focusing what I have no control on to a higher source of power, which is difficult since I am not very religious. My psychological goal is going to be to think more positive on a regular basis.

I think that the best way for me to work toward these goals is to get my overall life in order. I just got divorced and am trying to move to a new house that I just bought, but there is a lot of work that needs to get done on the place before I can move in. Once this is done then I think and hope that I can move forward with most of my goals.

I did find the Crime of the century exercise to be somewhat relaxing, although maybe it was just because I was tired. I do not think that this would be something that I would want to do on a regular basis.

Sincerely,
Elizabeth

Relaxation Exercise

Hello Professor and Class. I was happy to have done the relaxation exercise. It was fun and relaxing at the same time, however, I am embarrassed to say that I actually fell asleep during the process. I think that it made me very relaxed, and I may have been tired while I was doing it which may have contributed to me falling asleep. The music that was played and the narrators voice was relaxing all in itself along with the techniques her was instructing during the exercise. I enjoyed myself and definitely fell asleep and was relaxed afterward. Very nice experience.
